Tin Roof

Hey All

New to group and was wondering if someone might be able to help. I have an older mobile with a tin roof. It has a couple of leaks. I was wondering if any body had good way of repairing it? I was thinking of using that torch on roofing material to do the seams.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Tin Roof

A buddy of mine is just getting into like rhino lining, I think he said it was called armor coat. Anyhow, he was telling me that this company uses the product to seal the roof on RV's. Another application apparently is flat roofs, and there is like a 30 year guarantee. Not sure if there is one on the RV roof, but it would be worth looking into.

Torching to metal on your mobile is not the best idea,It'll buckle, not to mention its a fire hazard.I've done lots of mobiles(re-roofs).We always screwd down plywood over the metal, nailed down base-sheet,torch a mid-ply and then a cap-sheet.Or there are many other options,EPDM,TPO,PVC,etc..IMO you must install something solid over the metal first.

use solar seal coating for the entire roof, just reinforce the seam areas w/ fiberglass membrane(4"),---apply to seams to be repaired, lay fabric membrane, and smooth into coating, then coat entire roof area, when dry,add another coat,as it`s white it`ll also reflect the heat very well
