Special Spray for Roof Exhaust Vent's?

Is there a special spray for the roof exhaust and vents? Will any exterior metal spray work? Should I clean up the vents a little or just cover around it and spray?

Prep as you would any metal surface. Scrape off loose rust with a steel brush, clean of oil, tree sap, etc., with paint thinner then alcohol. Prime with a metal primer and spray, several coats. I like Krylon, it drys fast, rustoleum is probably better for rusty surfaces, but slow drying.

Thought these roofers had something special, guess not. Will take care of it once the rain stops. Thanks.
