spanish roof tiles


hi looking for a bit of advice please guys,im living in spain and asked to price a job to fix TERRACOTTA ROOF TILES which are half moon shape and obvously double layed on top of each other.I would appriciate any advice on materials on how to fix and ways of going about this if you have done this sort of work before,thanks fr your help,if i could give you any advice on stone/traditioal floor or wall tiling i would be glad to help

spanish roof tiles


2-3" copper nails are best to secure the tiles. They install same as slate with afew other quirks to pay attention to. Mortar or diamond bits work well for drilling holes.

spanish roof tiles


sounds like mission tile."a two piece cap and a pan". S tile is a little easier as it dosent require battens. a field repair is done by elevating the tiles above with a wooden wedge and tapping down a copper slaters nail about 13/4" with a flat bar and a skilfull hand. If your very new at this you may break more than you fix.
