silicone rake drip edge to shingles ?

Just had a new roof put on and noticed that the felt did not quite reach the drip edge on the rakes in a few areas.

Roofer said it was nothing to worry about.

The shingles overhang the rake drip edge about 1".

Would it be a good idea to run a bead of silicone under the shingles at the rake shingle/drip edge junction, or is that completely unnecessary ?

Not going to help but if it makes you feel better go ahead.
The paper should have gone over it as you know, we also lay shingles up the rake under the roof shingles for added protection.

Roof edge should go over the felt on the rakes.

Leave it alone. You hired a pro, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything.
