Shed Roof Ridge

Greetings..... getting ready to lay the roofing shingles for my new shed. Not sure what to do when I get to the ridge? This is a gable style roof. Plan on using asphalt shingles (basic). Shed size is 7 x 8'. Also, there is a break halfway down the slope with a about a 3 inch overhang.... it occurred to me that it might be a little tricky nailing down that shingle as it tucks up underneath... maybe there's a little trick to that? Any help would be appreciated.

If the shingle lay flat enough to conform to the pitch break, you can just continue shingling.

You may want to snap extra horizontal lines and adjust the exposure a slight amount, so you ensure the entire row hits that junction correctly and cosmetically.

Also, you can instal an angle flashing of sheet metal. Most roofing supply houses carry them and I would recommend you use an aluminum metal with a similar color to the shingles being installed.
