Sealing flat roof edge

I have re-roof my flat porch roof by rolling graveled paper over the old covering. I extened the covering over the exiting gravel edge. The edges of the new covering are visible when viewed horizontally. Shoul these edges be throughly sealed to the drip edge joint?

Sealing flat roof edge

You should ahve a field sheet laid to the deck, the perimeter metal, then an additional strip of roofing membrane to seal it all up.

I would not use the "gravelled tar paper" route though.
