Roofing shingle

I would start by talking to a contractor first.

Certainteed, GAF, and Owens Corning all make pretty good shingles.

Installation, regardless of product, is critical.

I agree with Windows, find a contractor first before choosing your shingle.

If your thinking of doing your roof yourself then find the local roofing supply store and ask to speak to a sales person too see what brands they carry/sale most.
In my area the brands would be GAF, Tamko, Certainteed, Owens Corning, IKO and Atlas.
There are other brands available in other regions such as Malarkey and BP, etc.

I agree the install is critical. That is first and foremost.

Lately I have installed Landmarks from Certainteed, Timberlines by GAF, Malarkey highlanders, IKO, OC's, and Tamko's. The only one I would use on my own home is Certainteed Landmark. I have felt they have been the best for many years now, and I'll still stand by that after using the others. Malarkey's were the only ones comparable, but I am not happy with them. This seems to vary greatly by location. Other roofers,(like Slyfox) who I respect, have told me different in their area and I believe them.

I think he wants his "rof singles" replaced, not roof shingles. Anyway, do lots of reading on this here DIYChatroom & you will certainly be steered in the right direction. Are "rof singles" a European version of Kraft singles........slices of cheese precut and encased in individual wrap?
