I have a metal roof which is green in color. Do to how high the gables are we are looking at putting brown roofing metal on them to match the logs of our home. Main reason on metal is because it will be maintenance free and I won't have to hire someone with scaffolding or a cherry picker to paint/oil every couple of years.

So you are talking a metal fascia, not gable trim for your roof?
If you could post a pic it would help a lot.

If so actually it looks better if it matches the roof, not the walls.

So something like the green sides in this picture?

There was no picture with your last post. I'm new here so is there something I need to setup to receive pictures?

Attached is a picture of the gable. The metal will be from the top log to the peak.

yeah it never attached the first time.

That is an odd looking structure. So what you want is wall panels. Good idea. I suggest a flush wall panel like the one here. It's a total of 1" stand-out. The key is proper flashings and installation to make it look neat.

You are correct, brown would be more appropriate.

We wanted big covered decks so what we did was install new truss's over the original roof (the old roof was left in place), but we also needed to keep enough slope for the snow to come off. think once we get the gables finished it will all come together.

Thanks for the "wall panel" info. I will have my contractor look into that.
