roofing crawl space moldy!

my house was insulated before i had a new roof put on. the insulation covered all of my soffit vents and there were not enough soffit vents. the roof was stripped & reshingled without removing any plywood. i later discovered that the attic crawlspace was damp and the osb board has now swollen and mold is occuring. can i sue my roofer for not discovering this and help infme to correctiy?

Did the contract state that the roofer was responsible for checking your attic?

I am guessing no. Wouldn't the person who did the insulation be more of the party at fault?

While you are at it sue your plumber for your child stuffing golf balls in the toilet and backing it up.

How is it the roofers fault that you covered your soffit vents?

I agree, you would think that "not covering the vents" would be one of the first things a insulation company would teach there grunts, right after "don't stand on the Sheetrock".

Give OP a break, he hired out a couple of things and now has problems and is looking for answers (that's how I read it anyway).

If the insulation guys buried the vents then he should be pissed and looking for answers and solutions.

Just because we all know who probably is at fault (based only on a couple of sentences) that doesn't mean the customer does.

Sueing someone would not be my first move. If you called the roofer and said"I need a new roof" he did as he was asked. If you asked the insulation company to " blow some insulation in" they did as asked. HOWEVER, the person in your attic should have told you about vent shortage. By the way, now did you find out about the mold, lack of vents and insulation covering the existing vents?

I agree,,,but it sounds like he is looking for someone to blame.IMO of course.,,But I agree people get into situations and search for an out.Hopefully his roofer does not catch the blunt of it.
