Roof vents

My house has the most roof vents I've ever seen. The less cuts in a roof the happier I am and I was always told the more holes the more chance of leaks.

This house is 29 yrs old. The laundry is vented thru the roof, but nothing I can do about that as it's in the center of the house. I'd prefer it thru the side wall.

I just realized the stove exhaust fan is also vented thru the roof. (one more hole).

When I reroof I think I'll tell the roofer to seal the stove exhaust and just use one of those non vented exhausts.

Is this a good idea?

Roof vents

Poor idea, a properly installed vent does not leak.
A range hood with no vent does nothing to get rid of the moisture when cooking.
Higher moisture in a home can fog up windows, add moisture to the walls which can lead to mold, and will catch more dust in the air.
If you have any vents other then a ridge vent you could get rid of those and add a ridge vent.
