Roof Staining/Algae Removal Products

does anyone have any product recommendations to kill off this algae on my roof? Will a home made solution with bleach do the trick??

A bleach spray would work, but most roofers can install a zinc strip near the peak of the roof and as it rains, water will react with the zinc strip and kill the stain.

The zinc strips doe's slow down/help but they will not stop the process.

Home made or store bought make sure what you use is safe for your animals and lawn, etc.

In my area the store bought products run about $25.00 give or take.

Is this a product I could pick up at a home depot or similar?

Yes, HD, Lowes, some lumber supply stores like Carter Lumber and probably some hardware stores like ACE.

You may have to use a solution. There are a few other threads discussing this. In my experience the zinc strip does well to prevent algae.

Is this type of thing something to be concerned about or just aesthetic? I have the same but MUCH worse than the images. Thanks!

There is a relatively new product called"spray it and forget it" you just spray it on and leave it and it works over time. I haven't used it yet, so you should research their website first and get customer reviews. They sell it at Ace Hardware.
