Is roof spread an issue with a reinforced concrete belt course?
I asked basically the same question over in the general construction section but if it's not a problem I'll ask again - sort of.
Is roof spread an issue with a reinforced concrete belt course toped by a 3" x 6" or 3" x 8" anchored plate?
The building depth is 26’ and we’re talking a 9/12 pitch using 2x6’s or 2x8’s.
If I do have to use a ridge beam, please suggest a size (in sawn lumber – we have no engineered lumber here in the Bahamas).
The length of the building is 30’. Can I use 1 support at the center along with the end support or should I use two. I’m thinking of using 2/ 4x4x1/4 lolly columns (dividing the load into three).
Doesnt sound like it...:)
