roof ridge joint

hello all, my friends and i tackled my roof this weekend and did pretty well. however It is the first time my friend installed the shingle vent II . We did pretty well until we get to where the two ridges join up with the valley and hip roof. i have looked at the diagrams on the net , but none really explain how to join them up. The only way we can figure out is to make a 45 degree cut from the valley to the hip ( marked in blue in picture) on both joining shingle vent pieces . Or do you recommend any other way? thanks

Don't cut the slot at that valley intersection and if you already have, cover it with Ice and Water Shield.

You can use the skill saw to miter the plastic vent pieces to fit, by making opposing 45* angles on the 2 adjoining sections.

Be careful when holding the plastic product so the saw does not jump out and bite someone.
