Roof Replacement

I got my roof insurance adjusted and am now looking for roofers. Is it more cost effective to buy the supplies myself and have them shipped here or to have the contractor take care of all that?

Roof Replacement

Most roofing contractors will have more purchase power with your local building supply houses.

With a real Roofing Contractor, you won't have to worry about "saving" anything.

Roof Replacement

I would pick a pro. These forums are full of lessons learned.Take a gander at some of these posts made by unsuspecting homeowners or people who wish they could have done something differently.

If your roof is not leaking then you really should not be in a rush.Running into things not only hurts but you miss alot of details that you might have seen had you taken your time.

Think about your decisions carefully.Make sure the product you choose is the best for your climate and will best fit your needs.

Yes,I know you need water to stay out of your home but I am speaking of colors, performance and any accessories etc.

The BBB is a great way of choosing a contractor as well as Angie's List.Speak with friends, relatives and find out why they recommend them.

But remember these institutions will NOT guarantee that you will receive a quality installation but with word of mouth and a high score then your chances are pretty good I think.

Very true KFR,,,,,I know a company that has had 15 negatives in the past 36 months and had an A+ rating. I had 1 in 144 months and had a B- ?????

Ironically I honestly spoke with them about 2 hours ago and the reason was they showed me being in business since 2010.

I am now at A+ and it will be posted in the a.m and will be classified as resolved with my full replies posted.

That is why I threw in Angies List and word of mouth. The officials at the BBB will tell you "Off Record" that some of these claims are legitimate but alot are made out of spit by customers who did not get their way in some fashion.

How could I get the top rating, I'm a new business? I didn’t care, this is a good thing, right?

It was that A+ rating of mine that first made me suspicious of the BBB. They could have no idea if I was any good or not and what my business practices were back then.

I only paid that first year.

I checked my rating after that report aired (18 years since I paid) and my rating was a C. I have never had a complaint. Since all of my work has been by word of mouth for many years I really could care less what my rating is with the BBB.

HAMAS and the KKK have A+ ratings with the BBB, or at least they did before the 20/20 report.
