Roof rats and ridge vent ii

I am installing a ridge vent ii on my home in Phoenix, AZ. As i look at the ridge vent, it appears a rat could chew through the flange. It is a thin plastic.

Anyone had trouble with rats penetrating through ridge vent II?

thanks

I have never had a home owner report that either a squirrel or a raccoon has chosen to chew through the Shingle Vent II Ridge Vent.

But, often times I see evidence of them chewing through aluminum and wooden soffit materials and also lead plumbing soil stack boot flashings.
