Ok also want to find out if it's a gable roof would it be noticeable if the roof is leaking on the inside would any residue appear on the sheet rack below ?

Yes if the roof was leaking there would be noticable stains on the ceiling of the inner house.

Have you purchased this place, cause there is sure seems there is alot of things wrong there, for someone that was looking to purchase.

May be a home inspector would be prudent.

The in Spector came and the there was no impression any leak and my knowledge of roofing is that once the roof is leaking you will see some signs of residue on the ceiling or rafters the main issue for the me is heating system and there is a broken joist in the floor which i could fix but I don't want it to be on my expense it's a nice house in a excellent community at a great price I'm a builder but not really familiar with American building styles I'm from Jamaica and the structures there are more durable and made from concrete because disaster fault line they sits on but construction basics are all the same anywhere in the world i'm able most but not all on these structures here ,i'm a pro at waterproofing of concrete and slab roofs
