Roof leaking during snow melting, what to do

I am up in Canada. My roof terrace has maybe 2 feet of snow.

Today, it was a bit warm, over zero degree celsis. In the afternoon, all of a sudden, the roof started leaking. There was like small rain over a line of about 1.5feet long on the roof. It lasted about 30 secs. After that it dropped a bit and stopped.

I have containers ready to catch the leak now. but What should I do now?

Do I just hope that it won't be warm again? Do I get rid of all the snow on the roof?

I cleared a small area about 6 square feet, and did't see any crack. It is a flat roof with some kind of newer tech roofing that is not gravel and tart.

Thank you for your help. I am not at ease going to bed not knowing if the roof is going to leak again.....

Is your roof a complete flat roof? If not in my experience most leaks happen within a transition. The transition being the connection where the flat roof meets the shingle area. Also a problem spot where these two roof systems meet majority of the time contain a pitch break.Pitch break meaning a flat roof with no pitch(flat) meeting a roof with pitch.Sometimes the ice and snow back up under this area. The best advice is maybe to find a safe way to have the snow removed and have a emergency repair performed. When was the roof installed? Are you still under warranty?.If you are unable to have the snow safely removed then I would keep your buckets handy. If it were me I would have the snow removed and an emergency repair performed.

Even without the leak, I would be surprised if you went to bed not at ease with 2 ft. of snow on your roof.

"Hoping that it won't be warm again" is just going to stress yourself out.

You'll feel better after you get that snow off the roof and figure out some sort of long term plan on addressing the drainage for that roof terrace.

Good luck.
