rolled roofing or metal

There was an addition added on the back of my house before I bought it. It currently has rolled roofing on it due to the pitch. Can I replace it with metal roofing or dose that need a good pitch?

can't tell you without knowing what the pitch actually is. Can give you a few tidbits in the meantime though.

1. Pretty much anything will be better than rolled roofing.
2. "metal roofing" is a very generic term. Really need to know the pitch.
3. I personally don't recommend any lower end system on anything under a 3/12

It all depends on how much quality and how good a roof you want to put on this deck. Based on what little info you provided, no one can really give you any specific advice. A picture is worth a thousand words.

pitch

Im not too sure how to calculate the pitch. The roof is about 13' and drops 2.5' from one end to the other. I plan on doing a compleet rebuild in the spring. I just wanted the best course of action.
Thanks

Do you have any photos of the roof and a side view showing how much it slopes that you can post?

Also, an easy way to determine the pitch/slope is by using a ruler and a small level. Hold the ruler with the level with the one end of it touching the roof at the higher point on the slope. Take a tape measure and measure the distance the front of the ruler, at the 12" mark, is above the roof on the lower sloped section.

That will give you the amount of "Rise" for every 12" of "Run".
