Question

rolled roofing???

I have a porch off the back of my house that has started to leak. On the bottom 4'. Im going to replace with new plywood, grace ice and water, and rolled roofing......ok the question is or are, putting down the grace shield first, then drip edge, can i use cement on the shield and then apply the rolled roofing ( that i would nail down through the shield)or do you have other suggestions. Lowes rep said to use rolled roofing because my pitch isnt that great 1-12, 2-12.The rest of the porch is in great shape with architechile shingles with no stains or leaks. Any help would b much appreciated.....Thanx in advance

you shoudlnt do shingles with such a flat slope. if its a small area roll roofing should be fine. i am sure the other experts here may chime in. i am no expert. just speaking from experience

You don't want rolled roofing or storm shield. Find a roofing supply house like BRADCO and get what you need to put down a SBS base sheet, an interply, and a cap sheet. The stuff is self adhering. A wagner heat gun would be an econominal DIY tool for heating the material.

rolled roofing???

I don't recommend rolled roofing for anything other than, well, actually I don't recommend rolled roofing for anything period. Certainteed Flintlastic SA or GAF Liberty SA are two fantastic DIY'er systems that, properly applied, perform extremely well in your situation.
