ROLL Roofing for sloped roofs

Hi some time ago I saw a commercial where the guys after they stripped the old traditional shingles, they actually installed what appeared to be a one piece rolled sytem, it had a cosmetic appeal to it, it was not underlayment, commercial roofing, ashphalt or otherwise, it almost looked like alaminated shingle. Has anybody out there ever seen such an animal,

Well, you can get single-ply membranes with embossed designs on them to mimic shingle/slate roofs. Not real common and pricey material

Here is IB's options to start with.

I've never installed nor seen any installed. At this point I think most of us consider them a novelty in roofing. Maybe someone on here has actually installed them though.

Want something that going to last then look at metal roofing. Some have a 75 year warrenty againt rust.
Any roll roofing I've seen is shot in about 10 years.

Joe, this is PVC, not rolled roofing.

Roll roofing for flat roofs

Thanks for the info, hopefully more info comes in, historically I beleive that rolled roofing has its place, I do feel that there are great commercial materials available. And metal appears the next fore runner to ashphalt, we can buy it down here for as little as little as $2.50 a ft., consistancy is my concern, and many metals don't have the timeline to support here warranties.
Thanks Man:thumbsup:

Hi.., Asphalt roofingor membrane is an inexpensive roofing material commonly used for buildings that feature a sloped roof pitch in North America. The material is based on the same materials used in asphalt shingles. Roll roofing is usually restricted to a lightweight mat compared to shingles, as it must be rolled for shipment.

Nice cut and paste. Rolled roofing has no business atop any structure you care even the slightesst bit about though.

Sloping the roof is no big deal.I have made several and I am not a very good carpenter. I like the roof to slant enough to not have standing water.
