Which Roll roofing product is least susceptible to mistakes by inexperienced roofers?

Is EPDM a product that should be attempted by novices? Are there other products that we should consider in a situation where there is some ponding?

A product that comes with instructions that a homeowner can read and understand.

At first I was like geez that was obvious but then I thought about it...

I just have to add "fully" understand because in most cases we understand 99%. That 1% is what gets us into trouble.

Tell me about it. First time using rubber flashing on my roof, I had to go to the manufacturer website to see how to install, due to the instructions where not clear enough to understand, due to printing is horrible on the packaging, and never ask a home center about what their thoughts are.

Now it is pretty much straight forward on how to use the material.
