Ridge vent question

In another thread I forgot to ask this so I decided to start this one. True or false
If you go in the attic on a sunny day, turn off attic lights, and see light coming only in certain sections of the ridge vent, would one assume that the "cut out" was done incorrectly, or not wide enough in these sections?? Since I still have a year left on workmanship before I complain I want to get educated by you guys before I make the call to request inspection. thanks

Ridge vent question

Look at the ridge vent cut-out from inside the attic with a flashlight and see if it is continuosly cut.

There are certain situations that a staggered cut may have been required, but typically those are for a specific hip vent cut, so as to not impede the structural integrity of the decking structure.
