Ridge Vent opinions

We are thinking of installing the Ridge Vent II but a neighbor of mine said that they had issues with what their roofer/builder called a "solar phenomenon" where you can actual see what seems like a metal looking line under the ridge vent when the sun reflects off the roof. It only seems to happen in the 12-3 time frame, however, it looks pretty bad like a long metal line. The builder insisted the vent was all black and that it was just an odd angle of the sun. Could this mean that the shingles were not given enough length over the vent, the nails were not long enough...has anyone heard of seen this happen?

Ridge Vent opinions

Only happens at certain angles and certain times of the day,
doe's not happen with all brands tho,
some set higher than others, but all have real close to the same amount of ridge cap coverage on them,
just ask your roofer to lookinto different brands.
