Ridge Vent best for snow

OK I 'am leaning towards a ridge vent so what brand or model would work best for snow/rain and keeping out pests? Thanks

I have a Snow Country on my roof. I think all the snow grade ridhe vents have some type of membrane on it to hold back the snow. Just google snow country ridge vent. There are other brands with a smiliar product.

Does it ever get covered with snow? Thanks

Shingle Vent II manufactured by the Air Vent Corp. is my # 1 preference, but the GAF Snow Country is an acceptable knock-off with similar characteristics.

Yes, snow will land on top, but the vent chute channels on opposing sides will melt off and properly drain the snow that initially covered them and they do continue to work if installed correctly.

Have you considered a cupola? They will project above any snow level!
