Ridge vent

My question is my roof pitch is 12' 2'.I was wondering if I can install a ridge vent.My roof was replaced not to long ago. I only have 3 little box vents now and it does'nt seem like it is enought.

Unless you live in a really small home then yes I believe you have inadequate ventilation.Ridge vent is a great choice. To reach a maximum level of ventilation soffits really help. Many types of Ridge vents are on the market right now.And I am sure you are curious which one is the best. You will receive different responses depending on who you ask about the "Best" product.I really like the High point.I really like the baffles that keep out alot of things that other products tend to allow in.The only problem some are faced with the High point is the pitch of your roof.A 12/12 sometimes puts a tremendous strain on the product. Some really like the roll Ridge vents. They form a little better to a roof line such as yours compared to the 4' sections.

How wide is the house?

Do you have soffit vents for intake?

ridge vent

The ridge on my house is about 25 ft to 30 ft long , and I just recently put soffit vents in.Just in the front the are 6 inches wide and about 12 ft .The back I can't get to

The idea is to vent every rafter bay, bottom and top with a balanced system. The best ridge vents are rated at 18NFVA with baffles. The soffit per foot on each side of a gable roof would be 9NFVA. Figure your roof NFVA; http://www.airvent.com/homeowner/pro...it-specs.shtml
