reuse flashing?

Hi... I have a pellet stove vent pipe on my roof that has corroded, and needs replacing. I went up there yesterday but was unable to remove the top piece of pipe. My guess is that there's a locking ring beneath the vent flashing, between the piece of pipe i want to remove, and the piece that's half in/half outside the house.

My question is... if I dislodge the flashing and am able to get beneath it, can I reuse that piece (nailing it back and resealing it)?

So long as you do not damage it and it's not all ready damaged such as rusted out than yes you can.
