Reroofing code requirements

When a roof is stripped down to the sheathing do building codes require that the sheathing be brought up to current codes? In my situation the roof was originally built with 3/8" sheathing. Current village codes are 1/2".

You may want to make a quick an easy call to city hall. I wouldn't think so though. I would imagine that's a "built after" type thing. To be honest, even when we do deck repair on a house with 3/8 we replace with 1/2 inch and you will probably have some to replace.

What do you do about the difference in plywood dimensions?

IMO 3/8" is different than 1/2"???,,,Maybe I am wrong.

Over time the difference will present itself.

There is a difference.. Just not a noticeable difference with felt and all. And really when you look at a new sheet sitting in place with the roof torn off the difference isn't that noticeable. I haven't had a problem with it,,,, yet... But i am just saying what we do. You don't have to take my word for it.. I'm the one paying extra for the material..
