put a pole barn over it...
make it a little wider, and you get a covered porch, or a car port too.

Depending on your location, the pole barn thing may be the best way to go. They are very popular here in S. GA. and most are built wide enough to make a one or two car carport. Many here claim that their mobile/modular homes are cooler in the summer and easier to heat in the winter after doing this.

Not trying to be difficult, but could you explain the installation? Are you saying that instead of a roof replacement,a barn is built around the trailer?

Leave what the trailer has on it alone. Build a separate structure over and around the trailer. Just a 24'w x 40'L straight gable 5/12 would be perfect.
