replacing structure

just to give a little info, i have a small porch which had ceiling tiles which i took off. now that i can see the half roof i would like to put the sheetrock in that angle giving me more height and look nicer than just putting sheetrock straight across. below are pictures of four beams i want to remove please let me know if this is possible as they look as if they are not supporting anything except the tiles, what do you guys think??

The wood ceiling joists running perpendicular to the rafters are not required. The ceiling joists running/attached to the rafters are required. I would add a ceiling joist/rafter tie at every 4', per Code, it appears you are missing one at least with the 7-8' distance between them to the gable end. Sec. 2326.12.6. Rafter ties. Rafters shall be nailed to adjacent ceiling joists to form a continuous tie between exterior walls when such joists are parallel to the rafters. Where not parallel, rafters shall be tied to 1-inch by 4-inch (25 mm by 102 mm) (nominal) minimum-size crossties. Rafter ties shall be spaced not more than 4 feet (1219 mm) on center.
