Replacing a partial piece of roof vent??
When we had our old shingles replaced the man we hired to do it, replaced the ridge vent. However the ridge vent does not go all the way to the chimney. In fact it is about a foot and half away. It now leaks in that spot. Is there a way to replace just the missing piece of ridge vent or a way to stop it from leaking?

the lack of a ridge vent is not causing your leak

It is not the root cause, I know. That however is the part of the roof that is leaking and is only covered by shingles.

Replacing a partial piece of roof vent??
The cut from the ridgevent should fall short of the chimney, just as it should at the gable ends. Some roofers also choose to to run the ridgevent short as well, which IMO looks very tacky. We always run all the way. This being the cause of the leak?Maybe a pic would help.It all depends on how its roofed in I guess.Anything is possible
