I am replacing a 25-year-old rain gutter. I checked it yesterday with a water level and discovered the 30 foot long gutter slopes one inch in the wrong direction, away from the downspout. I get the feeling the gutter contractors aren't going to address the problem and just set the new gutter on the existing wood. I was thinking about being there the same day and installing redwood spacers on top of the face board so the gutter sits higher where it should. The spacers would be ripped from redwood 2x material. Are there other ways of doing this?
