*PICS* What is this siding product called?

I'm replacing the gable siding on my house and want to use this product, but I don't know what it's called and haven't seen it at the lumber yards I've visited.

Can anyone help me with a name of this product? These are houses in the central Oklahoma area if that helps.

I'm not sure how clear it is in the pictures, but it's not smooth cut boards. It's uneven and has some character to it. It's on several houses in a newer neighborhood, so I'm guessing it's a factory made product.

Just looks like Cedar slap siding to me.
No box store is going to have it. Check some local lumber yards or saw mills.
Sure hope you do not have Carpenter Bees out your way.
There just going to love that stuff.

I attempted the project with tongue and groove siding from the big box store this morning. I got the old siding down, had enough of the new siding stained to do one of the gables and thought it would be smooth sailing from there. WRONG!

The tongue and groove stuff is garbage. The pieces won't fit together unless you beat them into submission and that's only possible if the boards are not warped. I bet I went through almost 100 boards to find the 15 I bought trying to get straight, good boards and it was still a nightmare. I got about 5 boards up, wasn't loving the new look and decided to pull the plug on it.

I drove around a nice, new neighborhood looking for ideas and took these pictures. I'm really liking this look.

The name of the profile is called "Skirl". What you're showing in the pictures looks like "Tight Knot Cedar Skirl" to me.

 I'll pass on that but that is what it's called.

I'd suggest to OP a visit to a good old fashion lumber yard. It's likely not stocked but they could get it.

And tell them you are interested in buying some tie knot see the squirrel.

OP. Listen to Ron, for he knows what he is talking about.
