old roof problem
Turning a barn into an office; roof has waves in it and trying to figure our how to level it out; about a 4/12 pitch; 1/2 plywood decked over old 2x6 rafters kickers holding up from two interior support wall lines.
About a 16' run one direction with support wall in between low side and the ridge; a 20' run down back side with couple of support wall.
Old asphault shingles have been removed and now down to exposed decking.
Interior floor line not even level enough to work from.
Any comments really appreciated.
Not sure how to go about leveling out the sags and humps;
Have done this many times. The easiest and cheapest way is to get a bottle jack inside and jack up the low spots. Then reinforce it and resheath it. After that start the roofing and use a laminate shingle to hide the small bows. They don't always come out perfect, but it helps alot if you take your time. If this doesn't seem to be working you can shim the roof on the outside and resheath it , then shingle. barns can be tough with the old hard wood.
