New roof with runs

I am building a new home. After they installed the first roof which was architectural style, it had tons of white stufff on it. The contractor told me it would go away. After several weeks it was determined the roof was defective and they would replace it. A few days ago the started replacing it. They finished with the 1 side and now there are noticeable runs from a distance that go from upper left to right down. As if one is lighter than the other. I contacted the builder again and he said this is normal and will fade over time. I am supposed to meet with him Monday to look at it. Also it rained a ton yesterday and it did not improve. I have seen plenty of new roofs and never seen this before. What can I do?

Without at least a picture hard to say.

Are all the shingle from the same batch? Should be a batch number on the bundles.

How are the running them. straight up the roof one row at a time or moving from one side to the other.

I have pictures, but I am trying to find out how to post on this forum.

I am not sure how they did the roof, but they only have done one side. Monday I may be able to have them check the lot numbers. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how.

I looked at the packaging and it looks like different lots were used.

It looks like you solved your problem and answered your own question.

That has to be the first time I have read a thread on any forum where the poster;

1.Posted a question
2.Posted a picture
3.Had more of his or her own replies than anyone within the thread
4.Had no replies offering an answer to the dilemma or offering a solution.
5.Managed to answer their own question themselves.

I give you a 10 :thumbsup: for this thread.
