New roof installed, but damaged wood not replaced?

I recently had a roof replaced. In the contract it specified removal of all shingles and repair of any damaged/rotten wood. This past weekend, I was up in the attic and discovered some broken wood. Photos are located here:

I am concerned because if anyone steps on the roof in any of these locations, they may fall in, become injured and/or cause a major leak.

Is this a valid concern?

From the looks of it, that sheathing was likely damaged by the new shingle nails. The roofer probably didn't know it occurred. At least two of the boards are broken at knots and I can't tell about the other one.

Since you have attic access, take a piece of 1x or plywood and screw it to the bottom perpendicularly under the broken boards after pushing the pieces back in position. Make sure it's long enough to span the broken board and the ones to either side. Use screws short enough that they don't penetrate to the shingles.

The roofer should be willing to come back and take care of it. I'd call, but if they won't come, it's a pretty minor fix.

It would be the roofer’s responsibly to come back and fix/repair the damage that was done while he installed the new roof.

seeyou, good fix but gonna have to reset the shingle nails above those boards also. Someone is going to have to go up and pull the nails and re-nail the shingles after the repair is done.

Other than that I agree, it looks like it happened during installation. Although the shingler should have noticed it when he put those nails in, it looks like it could have been an honest mistake.

If they are a decent contractor, they should come back and fix it for you. No reason to make a huge deal out of it unless they give you hassles about it.
