new roof and chimney refacing with stone veneer

I am having a new roof installed as well as refacing my chimney with stone veneer. What should be done first? Should the chimney be completed before the new roof is installed or should I have the chimney refaced with ledgestone veneer before the roof is done?

The roof 1st in my opinion.

But, I would also include the mason contractor to install a suitable and acceptable pre-fitted Counter-Flashing to exend below the bottom course of stone veneer so that the 1st and succeeding roofing contractors working on the roof could install the originasl and future sheet metal flashing kits without having to consider flashing to the bumpy exterior surface of the stone veneer product.

Pretty sure every mason you run into is going to want to do the chimney first, due to the amount of mess that can occur with the mortar. Additionally, laying drop clothes/tarps on the roof may protect the shingles, but it's not the safest situation for the masons to work on. Not to mention the potential shingle damage that can occur from the rebuild.

See, thats what you get when a mason responds, LOL.
