New roof advise Grace VS Suprema

I am having a new roof installed in a Florida beach community. I was advised to use a peel and stick product by Suprema. After doing the research it appears that Ice & Water Shield from Grace is top of the line. Has anyone had any experience with Suprema and how it compares?

Also, I the shingles that will be installed are the Owens Corning 130+ TruDefinition Duration Storm Shingles.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have used Grace a couple times.I don't personally endorse the product nor do I discredit Grace either.I think there are just as good of products out there that share the same reliability and quality.

Sometimes roofers hide behind these products.Meaning sloppy workmanship and relying on these peel and stick products to hide workmanship errors. But with you in the sunshine state and the strict building codes your chances of having a hack installation is very small.Providing your in Miami/Dade county which has the 3 phase inspection for roof installations.

Grace has always been the leader in the product and their Vycor is definitely a good product. But that does not mean that other products aren't as good. There are many high end ice/water mfrs out there that are comparable and Soprema has always been on the high end of quality in their rolled goods.

New roof advise Grace VS Suprema

After living in South Florida for sometime, I packed up and decided to buy something in North Eastern Florida in the Vilano Beach area. Love it up there!

Thank you both for the info. With the company I am using the Grace product will cost me almost three times the price so its good to Know Soprema is a good quality product. I will go with Soprema knowing that the company has a good reputation for their roof work.

Where in Florida?

Don't be under the mistaken impression that a heavier asphalt shingle will give you any real improvement in blow off production as compared to the slightly lighter dimensional shingles.

Has the community considered metal? I would think that most of FL would be looking hard at metal or other than asphalt technolgies.
