new roof, adding penetrations?

Not sure were this should go, here, bathrooms or plumbing, but I decided to go with roofing.

I am getting a new roof in the very near future Most likely a "cheap" steel roof.
It dawned on me, that this would be the time to add a bathroom vent. Do I run it straight up through the roof? up to the peak? or over to a wall and keep the roof completely un-pierced?

I am also contemplating a new sewer vent. the current one is up through the inside edge of an outside basement stair roof, and under the eave of the main roof. I will probably redo the whole sewer system when I redo the bathroom down the road, so I could move it now with a few inconvenient junctions in the basement, until I redo it all. If I go with 2 roof penetrations, should they be in-line? far apart?

Bathroom vent can go through the the gable end.

Plumbing vent should go through the roof.
