Need some help with tin roof

Hi everyone,
I live in Western Kentucky. And I am planning on putting Tin on my roof..
I have a couple of questions..

First .. I have some used tin and it has cool-seal on it .. the cool-seal is peeling off in places and I want to remove it . What is the best way to remove this off the tin.

Second.. If shingles are laying flat on my roof. can I lay foiled bubble wrap on the roof and just lay the tin or do I need to lay 1by strips then the tin?

Thanks for any and all help

Remove the shingles and put the roof on the sheathing. Here are some pics of a recent one to help you. http://www.albertsroofing.com/Tin%20...to_gallery.htm

I've seen guys go right over top of shingles with tin if the shingles aren't too curled. You may have to use longer fasteners depending on how many layers of shingles there are. We sometimes strap the roof horizontally every 16" with 1x4 and then screw to them. If it were me I'd strip the roof down to the original sheathing like the "tinner" suggested. Then you know what you are up against. But that is alot of work and very weather dependant. Your call...good luck.
