Need Flat roof install advice

Purchased travel trailer in a campground with a wooden screen porch built on to the trailer--it has a worn out rolled roofing with white grainials over entire wood porch roof including the metal travel trailer roof . What is the best way and proper materials to use to install a new roof ? Thanks Michael

You might want to look into White EPDM. Go to Mulehide, or Firestone and download a 'Foreman's installation manual. It's the most friendly DIY flat roof system IMHO. You need to completely strip the existing roofs.
I'd only buy the reinforced .060, but you could make do with the non-reinforced .060. After rolling it out, let it relax for 30 minutes or so before glueing in place.

I respect Tinners Opinion on most things. On this one I agree with the approach, but not the material. Otherwise I have the greatest respect for his opinion.

Use Fully Adhered Black 60mil Unreinforced EPDM. Either Firestone or Carlisle. Please tell us where you live so we can be more specific. You do not want white EPDM it failed miserably due to the filler used (Titanium Dioxide). You do not want reinforced membrane either. I have witnessed failures in reinforced material due to migration of moisture through the scrim. (Epdm is laminated during the callendering process out of two equally thick plies) Black EPDM uses Carbon Black, which is excellent for UV resistance. If you need white color, (depending on where you live) You coat it with a white acrylic coating. (Firestones Acryltop is excellent) With proper maintenance, and periodic re-coats at about 7-10 years, the roof will last indefinitely.

My Bad. Joe is right, you need slope. I guess I assumed some slope. , at least 1/4 inch per foot. Tapered insulation will work. Post where you live and pictures.

Thanks to all who replied to my post, to clarify things : trailer/porch is Located in South New Jersey , There is no pitch on the roof at all . I am jack of all trades type however very little roofing experience , I am looking for a product that will not be too difficult to install , any more advice would be greatly appreciated (hiring a roofer is not an option ). Thanks Michael

As already stated. Black 60 mil EPDM. Go to Firestones website and download their details and install instructions and read. If neither roof has any slope at all, it is prudent to add slope. You can buy a sheet that is big enough to have no seams. You will want to add wood nailers at the perimeter that are about 1/2 inch lower than the edge of the insulation for fall/ runoff. Assuming the trailer is a typical trailer, install 1/4 inch per foot tapered Isocyanurate insulation with a ridge in the middle of the trailer. With a little finesse you can install hips on the end by mitering the tapered. I don't know how the structural roof of the trailer is constructed, but you may need a combination of mechanical fastening and adhesive for the insulation. Watch your fastener length closely so you don't punch through the ceiling.
