Modular Removable Roofing (for a deck)

Hello,

Does anyone have any ideas on cheap, modular, removable deck roofing that can be installed and uninstalled quickly, and has a decent aesthetic look?

The deck in question is not attached to a house and therefore an extractable awning cannot be used. Furthermore, the roofing needs to be uninstalled during the winter (to prevent collapsing due to snow).

Ideally, DIY solutions are appreciated. I was thinking of some sort of vinyl/tarp that can be fastened to the rafter portion of the deck (the framework), but that doesn't look very appealing to the eye, so I am hoping someone has some similar experience.

Thanks for any input!

How about a pergola? No need to remove anything in the winter. Grow some viney plants on it for more shade in the summer.

Every roof deck will eventually need to be removed so that the roof can be maintained and repaired. Contact a carpenter with extensive knowledge building a roof deck who will be able to contruct the deck without damage to the roof. Consider reading this inr egards to roof decks... http://reliableamerican.us/articles/...d_to_know.html
