Modified roll roofing problems

Ok, so here is the deal i live in the desert southwest Las Cruces NM and what i keep running into is modified roll roofing that is cracking. Most of the cases that I have run into are newer roofs 2-5 years old that look like they are about 7-10 the granuals are cracked into small cracks but only on certain sections of the roofing material. Its driving me crazy cause i know that this cannot be normal i just cannot figure out why this is happening or what to do about it.

Modified roll roofing problems

Cracked anywhere or only where the material is bent say around an edge?

Roll roofing will crack if bent sharply or if bent at low temperatures such as on a cold and frosty morning.

Alternatively it might simply be shoddy material.

Why are you running into so many roofs?

Are you a roofing contractor or inspector or something else?

What brand markings might you have stumbled upon during your inspections?

Modified roll roofing problems

Hey guys,
I am a contractor here in the city and i do roof inspections from time to time, the cracks are on both the parapet walls on on the flat unbent field of the roof! But here is the really wierd part they occour sometimes on only sections of the same sheet of roll roof! THe most common brands of material used here is GAF and TAMKO we see some OWENS CORNING but not much its too expensive for most.

Where is "Here In The City?"

Could you fill in your profile. It sometimes makes a difference on the advice.

Also, do you have any photos that you can upload?
