metal roofing question.

I have a simple question on steel roofing.
Had a small one added to home for over patio and noticed the screws are in the middle of the flattest areas and not beside the high points. Will i have any problems by not having them beside the higher points or the 1 inch ridges?

Also on the sides, where the gable runs, how close to edge or over should 1st panel go; and is the starting edge on outside to be curved edge or the flat side?

I always leave about 1-1/2 inches hanging over the rakes and eaves. I've never heard of capping installed along a rake like that.

And about the screw placement...I don't think it matters as long as the screws are seated properly. I've always put them right next to the ridges.

Well, that's the way I've always done it, but I am not a full-time roofer. I have installed probably a dozen metal roofs, and never had a leak doing it this way, though.

I always space the screws along the rakes closer together than everywhere else, too.

If you can get some installation instructions from the manufacturer, it would be a good idea to look 'em over.
