do you have any vents, venting directly into the attic? you need to get a handle on moisture coming from the living space that is making its way into your attic
yes metal was put on over black paper and osb ,that is how home depot told me to install it,yes got soffit vents and gable vents but gables are plugged,it helped alot but not all togeather, please help thank you
Go back to Home Depot and tell them they are NOT Contractors and should NOT be giving advise!! Then, ask them what they are going to do, to fix your problem.
IMO, the entire roof needs to be redone correctly by a professional.
The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) recommends a layer of asphalt-saturated felt between the insulation layer and standing seam metal roof to provide a drainage plane in buildings with high potential for condensation. The NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing Manual recommends using a vapor retarder with a permeation rating of 0.5 perms or less in certain climate zones. When installed with sealed (taped) joints, highly water-resistant XPS insulation eliminates the need for these additional layers (see Figure 7).
