Metal Roofing
 
I am beginning to plan my roofing project for this spring / summer. I want to go with a metal roof.

Is there a product that is suitable for installation over a deck which has 24" OC trusses below it? Most of the stuff I've seen so far wants 16" OC.

Thanks. I did come across that link yesterday.

I'm actually looking at panel roofing, such as the offerings from Midwest Roofing through Menards.

I have 5/8" or 1/2" decking. I'm just wondering if the panels need to be screwed through the decking into the trusses or if screwing into the deck is sufficient.

Metal panels are typically screwed to the deck, not structural members, so you should be fine as long as the decking is sound.

do you have any experience installing a standing seam roof?
make sure you get an installation manual from the manufacturer.
if you have a complicated roof or any roof penetrations they have to be handled correctly.A standing seam roof is durable and long lasting as long as the details are done correctly.Done wrong and you will have an expensive disaster on your hands
