How does one build up low spots in flat roofs that are ponding and might be leaking?
(Is there a trick for checking leaks anyway?)
We have a hidden gutter system which has a flat section on the edges that sends the water to downspouts every 20 feet or so, and a weird delayed leak at a corner near the section with the ponding problem. The main roof is (I think) 3 in 12 asphalt shingles. Very attractive, but not a good design for the rainy Pacific NW!
I thought of just getting some roofing felt and layering up strips to see if that helped; I would only put in adhesive if it worked.
you can buy 5 gallon buckets of whats called emulsion, its like a thick pudding. spread it out in the low spot and let it dry, might have to repeat. ive use this on many roofs and it does the job. after you have it built up then coat it with elasticmeric roof paint to tie it into the existing roof. believe youll have to buy the emulsion at a roofing supply house, homedepot might not know what your talking about.
