low slope roof want stop leaking
I have a leak in my kitchen ceiling , my son went on the roof to check for any cracks and sealed what ever he found , he felt that the water was getting in along the flang on the point ,because he saw alot of cracking there , so we bought some kind of roof sealer / concete patch and put several coats along and up under the flang, then he put another piece of aluminum sheeting up under and sealed that again, but we still have water stains in the kitchen , he can't find any where else it could be coming in , the roof is in great shape but this is a real problem because there are so many ups and downs on this roof ,that there is noo attic space in that area where the leak is , can you suggest some kind of sealer that we can spray that whole section with that will form a protective shield or completely seal the whole area , please help me , thanks .virgo822

low slope roof want stop leaking
Hello. I have been doing roofing for nearly 30 years and based on my experience, when you have a roof that changes from a 5/12 pitch to nearly a flat roof, 95% of the time it is leaking where it changes pitches. Just make sure that the roll roofing is under the shingles far enough and that no tack heads are in the rain grooves. Raise up the bottom shingles and place a good bead of roofing tar and make sure your roll roofing is tarred down good. Most importantly though, just make sure the roll roofing goes from the flat roof well upon the pitched roof under the shingles. It looked like you had water standing where it changes pitches. Roll roofing comes in 1 sq. rolls. (3'w by 33.3'L). Based on 1 of your pictures you enclosed, it really looks like to me that the roll roofing isn't going upon to the pitched roof enough. There doesn't need to be a break in the roll roofing where it changes pitches. It should be layed upon the pitched roof about 18 to 20 inches. Hope this helps. I'll be glad to help you anyway I can.

low slope roof want stop leaking
hello,
thanks for your reply but I put my quote in the wrong section , I do not have a flat roof , I have all different angels on my roof with cement tiles , the roof is in great condition but i have a leak coming in somewhere around the top point cap ...?
don't know what it's called , my son has went up there and patched it with cement patch all around where he seen tiny cracks , he did it 3 times and every time it rains ,the kitchen ceiling is still getting wet , we can't go inside the attic because the whole house has different piches and in that area there is no crawl space .
I can send you pictures if that will help you , I really need help , thanks carol

Carol, go to the main page for roofing. There’s a big button on the left that says “new topic”.
Post pictures if you can. How to attach a photo to a post
