Looking for Indiana shingle recommendation

Hello,

I'm putting a new roof on my 7-yr old house. The roofer put it on with staples and I have lost a few shingles, plus most of the back side (southern exposure, gets all of the wind) did not seal. The builder is out of business so I don't have any recourse.

So, I'll pay for a new roof.

You search online and you can find complaints about every roofing company. I believe that some companies and shingle lines do better in certain parts of the country. I also know that the installation is of paramount importance. I am a pastor and my contractor is a very experienced member of the congregation - I trust he will do an excellent job.

So, do any of you have a recommendation for a line of architectural shingles to be used in the Indianapolis, Indiana area? I have looked at GAF/Elk Timberline, Atlas Pinnacle, and Certainteed Landmark - but can't really discern a difference. There are complaints online about all of them.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

I'm roughly six hours away in Youngstown, Ohio.

In my area Timberline & Landmark both fair equally well.

Atlas is used, but in a much lower volume.

Hey Steve -

Where do your GAF's come from? They suck here.
