New to the forum.
I have seamless gutters with drip edge extended into the gutter and angled out. 6 gutters total. 2 story colonial Proper attic ventilation, and installed all new attic insulation to R-49. Air sealed the attic the best I could with spray foam and caulk. Never had problems with ice dams. When every other house has half the snow melted off their house and icicles, my roof is still snow covered with no ice.
Recently had a massive snowfall (2 feet). The last several days, the sun was out and heated the roof enough to cause some of the snow to start to melt. Water into the snow filled gutters, and at night it freezes up. Obviously, the gutters are now filled with ice and slush. The water laying in the gutters is now leaking out from BEHIND the gutters, and not much, if any, is flowing over the front of the gutters. Icicles form behind the gutters at night. The leaks are spaced apart as if it is leaking at each gutter hanger. It's just a perfect vertical stream every 2 feet or so. How does one fix this? This is only happening on my one north facing gutter.
