I'm interested in putting in a gable powered fan in a small attic space. The instructions state: "Important: Intake ventilation MUST be at least equal to exhaust ventilation."
If this is not exactly correct, is there some danger involved with this if the intake doesn't match exhaust?
This is a small attic space. It's a shed roof that measures about 24'x12' and it's not a steep roof. There are only 3 existing 22"x4" soffit vents and that's it! I guess that's better than nothing, but it just cooks in there, because it's basically sealed up.
I'm considering trying to put in more soffit vents or put a vent in the other gable end. I'm in a quandary about what is the best scheme. It's easier to put in a gable vent.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
thx
